Tattwa (Element), Indriya (Sense) and Saankhya (Numeric) Darshan

The eight categories of nature.

Lord Krishna says to Arjun:
I have separated this existence into eight parts: land, water, fire, air, space, mind, intelligence and individuality.

Twenty four Tattwas (elements).

Lord Krishna says to Arjun:
The five fundamental elements, egotism, wisdom, unmanifested, eleven senses and the senses of perceptions.

The true knower knows that the senses do their job, you don't do them.

Lord Krishna says to Arjun:
One who knows the truth thinks "I do not do anything" though engaged in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, eating, moving, dreaming and breathing.

Even the actions like opening and closing of eyelids are done by sense or their stimulants.

Lord Krishna says to Arjun:
Even the talking, excreting, grasping, opening and closing of the eyelids are maintained by the senses and their stimulants.

Just like the turtle withdraws its limbs, one should control their senses.

Lord Krishna says to Arjun:
Just like when the turtle withdraws its limbs wholly, he who withdraws senses from desired objects, he has a valued wisdom.

From sense objects to senses to mind to intelligence, superiority goes up all the way to the soul.

Lord Krishna says to Arjun:
The minds are said to be superior to the senses; the intelligence is but superior to the conscience; and the soul is above the intelligence.
