यत् अग्रे च अनुबन्धे च सुखम् मोहनम् आत्मनः
निद्रा आलस्य प्रमाद उत्थम् तत् तामसम् उदाहृतम्
यदग्रे चानुबन्धे च सुखं मोहनमात्मनः ।
निद्रालस्यप्रमादोत्थं तत्तामसमुदाहृतम् ॥१८:३९॥

nidraalasyapramaadottham tattaamasamudaahritam ||18:39||

nidraa aalasya pramaada uttham tat taamasam udaahritam
Purport Which, in the beginning, binds the soul to affection but results in sleep, laziness and madness, that happiness is the illustration of Taamas (having the characteristics of darkness or ignorance).
