सत्त्वम् सुखे सञ्जयति रजः कर्मणि भारत
ज्ञानम् आवृत्य तु तमः प्रमादे सञ्जयति उत​

सत्त्वं सुखे सञ्जयति रजः कर्मणि भारत ।
ज्ञानमावृत्य तु तमः प्रमादे सञ्जयत्युत ॥१४:९॥

Purport The Sattwa (characteristic of goodness) connects with happiness, the Raja (character of attachment) to the (fruitive) actions, O descendant of Bharat (O Arjun). But the Tama (characteristic of darkness), covering knowledge, connects rather with insanity.
